Seedling and Sage Catering Partners with Flourtown Country Club
Seedling and Sage is proud to announce their new exclusive venue Flourtown Country Club, an expansive property rich with history and architectural detail. The beautifully appointed stone building is home to vintage-chic event space accommodating 50-350 guests.
Seedling and Sage Catering is a full service catering company. In addition to catering the culinary aspect of events, they also handle venue selection, event planning, staffing, and rentals. Seedling and Sage caters events at private homes and at off site locations. They have 20+ preferred and exclusive venues in Philadelphia region.
Flourtown Country Club is the most recent addition to the impressive list of venues. The property features a large ballroom adorned with floor to ceiling windows, cathedral ceilings and an adjacent veranda overlooking an impeccably manicured golf course. The vast property also boasts outdoor ceremony areas, two additional private events spaces, lush greenery, a pond, and a large well-lit parking lot with easy access to the property. The popular event venue is perfect for weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate events, social gatherings, memorials and more. They operate all types of events like breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail parties.
“Seedling and Sage is thrilled to partner with Flourtown Country Club. We are taking the traditional country club event model and enhancing it by designing a fully customizable farm to table concept. This will be a first in the Philadelphia country club arena,” said Melissa McDevitt, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Seedling and Sage.
McDevitt goes on to explain that their goal at Flourtown will be to redefine the ‘country club’ wedding perception by creating a new image that will attract a broader scope of clientele, while still welcoming back previous clients. In addition to plated events, Seedling and Sage also offers food stations, family style meals, and cocktail style event.
“We have worked with industry leaders to identify the current and the future event trends. ‘Traditional’ is not what the new generation is looking for,” said Laura Kidwell, the other Managing Partner and Founder of Seedling and Sage.
Kidwell explains that many of Seedling and Sage’s couples are booking non-traditional event venues where they have the ability to customize each detail of their special day from menus to table settings to outdoor tenting with market lights, and more. Often these venues are outdoors on farms and arboretums, referred to as ballrooms without walls. Many times, if parents are involved in the planning, their preference is a more stable environment with fixed pricing.
The partnership with Flourtown Country Club represents the best of both worlds. With both indoor and outdoor space, fixed package pricing, but also countless customizable details, the hope is that this property will be a great solution to the new shift in the industry giving millennials the opportunity for personalized DIY components, with the ease their parents are looking for.
“Our culinary team and event design team meet with each client to understand their needs, and then create customized menus to meet their vision and their budget,” says Kidwell.
Kidwell and McDevitt explain that farm to table doesn’t always mean fancy. Seedling and Sage’s kitchen is a scratch kitchen operating on a “fresh is best” philosophy. So while the culinary team may be working on designing a family-style wedding menu for one client, they are simultaneously working on a high school sports awards dinner, and a company’s trade show event as well.
Farm to table doesn’t always mean your menu will be more expensive either. It means fresh, honest, approachable and locally sourced when possible.
Seedling and Sage Catering is a proud, trusted partner of many venues in the Philadelphia region. The company continues to grow its offsite catering business by identifying venues with whom to partner. They are emerging as an industry leader as they continually prove their core competency of operating and executing events while maintaining the integrity of the venue, exceeding client expectations, and assuring overall profitability.
