Gala in the Gardens – The Highlands Mansion

This past weekend, Seedling & Sage was invited to the 2nd annual ‘Gala in the Gardens’ at The Highlands Mansion!

The Highlands Historical Society puts on this fundraising event to celebrate and support preserving the gorgeous venue that has been in the community for decades. This year’s theme was lavender & floral as an homage to Caroline Sinkler, known as the Lavender Lady of Philadelphia, whose visionary designs are seen throughout the gardens.

The evening began with a gorgeous Cocktail Hour on the lawn accompanied by professional violinist, Bronwyn Beth. Guests mingled & noshed on Seedling & Sage’s Signature Seedling Grazing Display which featured the Signature Mediterranean Station, Seasonal Veggie Couture Cups, the Artisan Cheese Board, Chicken Pesto Sliders, and Lemon Balsamic Pasta Salad. As guests waltzed around the mansion they sipped on Seedling’s Signature Lavender Strawberry Lemonade and participated in the silent auction which included weekend getaways, fine handcrafted art, a piece of history, & more.

Seedling & Sage prepared & served a delicious duo plated entree of Achiote Roasted Salmon with Papaya, Grilled Pineapple, & Baby Squash and a Filet Mignon served with a Rosemary Butter Coin. On the side, guests enjoyed French Beans with Yellow & Red Peppers and Farro Pilaf. Vegans & Vegetarians enjoyed the Gluten Free Spinach & Quinoa Stuffed Peppers with Black Beans, Cumin, Quinoa, Roasted Corn Relish, & Avocado Crema.

The evening ended with dancing under the willow trees to live music by Rick’s Office Band and cheers-ing to a wonderful community treasure that has been bringing people together for decades.
